PLUG AND PLAY: THE VERY BEST PODCASTS

Silence is golden. It helps us achieve peace and is great for meditation. But sometimes, there’s nothing better than a little bit of noise to keep you company. And while we love listening to a killer playlist as much as the next person, we particularly love to tune into amazing, informative podcasts that help us grow as much as they entertain us.

It’s great to be spoiled for choice, but when there are too many options out there, we can easily feel overwhelmed. To help narrow things down a bit for you, we decided to share a list of our very favourite podcasts. With this list in hand, all you’ll need is your iPhone, a pair of headphones and an hour or two to be led down interesting rabbit holes toward self-discovery.

SuperSoul Conversations with Oprah Winfrey. If you want to awaken your soul, discover new things about yourself and connect to the world around you and its deeper meaning, this podcast is for you. Girl boss Oprah Winfrey interviews inspiring thought-leaders, authors and experts in the field of health and wellness to bring you an engaging, well-rounded podcast.

The Tony Robbins Podcast with Tony Robbins. Tony Robbins is a bit of a guru, and we adore his podcast, particularly the episodes where he’s interviewing extraordinary people about their tactics and strategies for living their best lives. There are other episodes where it’s more of a monologue that we don’t love, but we heartily recommend his interview-style episodes.

Dear Sugars with Esther Perel. If you’ve ever found yourself reading advice columns in your favourite newspaper or magazine, then you are sure to love this cult-favourite podcast. Esther Perel deep dives into all the inner workings of a relationship with hosts Cheryl Strayed and Steve Almond to answer all of your burning questions.

Helden en Hordes with Noeska Pak . Friend of The Cold Pressed Juicery Noeska Pak is a personal growth coach in Amsterdam. In this amazing podcast, she focuses on your thoughts and how they are truly your only obstacle. She zeroes in on the work of Byron Katie and encourages her listeners to see how life happens for you and not against you.

Hidden Brain with Shankar Vedantam. This is a wonderful podcast where science and storytelling come together to help illustrate to its listeners how unconscious patterns can actually drive human behaviour. It’s the perfect combination of editorial and science and will sure to keep you engaged for hours.

Medical Medium with Anthony William. Many of us have suffered from medical issues that were not properly addressed by conventional Western medicine, and that’s exactly where Anthony William comes in. He believes in the healing power of what you eat (he’d certainly approve of all of the nutritious, wholesome products at TCPJ!) and is focused on important techniques in alternative medicine.
