ORGANIC SKINCARE MATTERS. HERE'S WHY.

Let’s lay the cards on the table. If you’re here on our site, reading this article, we’d go all in, betting that you care about your body and try to feed it beautiful, organic food as often as possible. Are we right?? We thought as much.

But while many of us have made the switch to organic produce that’s been sustainably grown, far fewer of us have paid the same careful attention to our skincare. You have the Dirty Dozen memorised, and you know which local markets and grocery stores stock the freshest, most natural fruit and veggies. So why aren’t you applying this mentality to the contents of your bathroom cupboards as passionately as those of your kitchen cupboards?

If you’re not willing to consume harmful toxins, then there is certainly no need for you to slather them on your face and body. Clean beauty has come such a long way in recent years, making it just as easy to ditch the chemicals.

Want to know the top reasons you should make the switch today? Well here they are!

1. It’s better for the environment. This probably comes as no surprise, as it’s likely one of the reasons you made the switch to organically farmed produce. Organic is better for the environment. Additionally, many of the companies that use natural, organic ingredients for their products also use recycled goods for their packaging. Some of these companies even give back to the community in an effort to make the world a better place. Kahina Giving Beauty, for example, not only plants trees in community-run nurseries in Morocco but also donates some of its revenue to the Berber women of Morocco.

2. It’s better for your body. Though there is some debate about it, many experts agree that the products you put on your skin can permeate the epidermis and travel into your blood stream. After all, your skin is the largest organ in your body, so it naturally absorbs anything you put on it, so you really want to make sure you’re only putting the best stuff on it (and subsequently in it!). The more often you select clean beauty products, the more you’ll reduce your overall chemical load in your body. Opt for products that contain the Clean 15 and make sure the label says clearly that the ingredients are organic and pesticide-free. If you’re not ready for a total medicine cabinet overhaul, begin with the products that are meant for the places with the thinnest skin – think eyes, forehead and mouth – because products will be absorbed much more easily there.

3. It’s better for its intended use. And if not always better, then definitely just as effective. In the past, natural products were shunned, as people believed they were not as effective as chemical-laden products. These days, organic products often create even better results than conventional ones. Just ask any Vintner’s Daughter devotees. Powerhouse ingredients like salicylic acid and hyaluronic acid that were once only easy to derive through chemical processes can now be derived from organic strawberries and organic marshmallow root.

So head to Lavendula, Dille & Kamille or Vega-Life, and you’ll be feeling as clean and glowy outside as you do inside after one of our cleanses. Go get that glow!
