Want a beautiful aura? Master beauty from within

Our culture is obsessed with beauty and youth. At the Cold Pressed Juicery we love how raw foods make us glow. We love their antioxidants which help keep us looking youthful. Yet we're firm believers in the idea that beauty is more than skin deep.

Beauty isn't a look, it's a vibe, an aura, a feeling. But how does one feel beautiful?

Dove did a study which showed only 4% of women consider themselves beautiful. Men may only be marginally better. We are our own harshest critics. We worry we're not good looking enough. Not fit enough. Not trendy enough. However this is all focussed on the external. What does it look like to be beautiful on the inside?

Surely the first step is self-acceptance. It may be a cliché but we can't expect someone else to accept us, before we've at peace with ourselves.

Think about when you feel the most confident. The happiest. Comfortable in your own skin. Often it's when we've taken time for ourselves, and our body is in its optimum health.

Arguably it all starts with the food we eat. The nutrition and fuel we give our bodies translates directly to our mood, energy levels and thus how we feel about ourselves. When you eat well you're saying you care about yourself and your body. That's what we're all about at TCPJ.

Healthy eating trickles down. When we feel healthy we're actually inspired to exercise and be more active, which in turn releases endorphins making us even happier. When you're eating well and exercising regularly you're in optimum health. You walk more confidentially, you dress more daringly, you simply radiate wellbeing.

When our physicality is on form it is reflected in our mental health. We're encouraged to look after ourselves better. Take time out. Do the things we love. Our mental wellbeing soars, and as a result we're happier. And happiness is contagious.

There is nothing more attractive than someone who is happy, healthy and authentically themselves.

So eat well. Be active. Take care of yourself. Unwind. Beam. Laugh. Be a life lover. We'll leave you with this Roald Dahl quote sure to generate warm fuzzy feelings:

"If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely"
